Toronto Canada, Feb 17 (EFE).- A Delta Air Lines enger jet crashed and overturned while landing at Toronto’s Pearson Airport on Monday, critically injuring three people, including a child, authorities said.
Canadian authorities said 15 other people were injured in the crash.
Toronto Pearson International Airport is Canada’s largest and one of the busiest airports in North America.
Among the critically injured is a minor who was flown by helicopter to Toronto’s Children’s Hospital. The two others, a man in his 60s and a woman in her 40s, were also taken by helicopter to local hospitals.
Images on social networks show engers and staff walking around the plane upside down, with no wings and smoke coming from the fuselage.
Since Thursday, Toronto has been experiencing heavy snowfall that has caused numerous flight cancellations and widespread delays at Pearson Airport, although weather conditions had improved on Monday. EFE
