New Delhi, May 7 (EFE). – The Indian army bombed nine suspected terrorist bases in Pakistan and Pakistan-istered Kashmir after midnight on Wednesday, where it said terrorist attacks against India were being planned.
“A little while ago, the Indian Armed Forces launched ‘OPERATION SINDOOR’, hitting terrorist infrastructure in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Jammu and Kashmir from where terrorist attacks against India have been planned and directed,” a statement from the Indian armed forces read.
According to the statement, nine locations were targeted in the operation, which consisted of a precision strike that was focused, measured, and non-escalatory.
“India has demonstrated considerable restraint in the selection of targets and method of execution,” the statement added.
In a post on X, the Indian army posted an image with the operation’s name accompanied by the text: “Justice is Served. Jai Hind!’”
The statement added that this action follows the April 22 attack in Indian-controlled Kashmir that killed 26 people, 25 of them Indian nationals.
India accuses Pakistan of being behind the attack and warned that it would take appropriate action in retaliation, which has led to an escalation of tensions in recent weeks and a tit-for-tat accusation, as Islamabad denies involvement in the attack.EFE
