At least 22 children, 15 women among the 50 killed overnight in northern Gaza

Beit Lahia, Gaza Strip, May 14 (EFE).- At least 22 minors and 15 women lost their lives in the overnight Israeli attacks on the northern Gaza Strip that left 50 dead, sources from the Indonesia Hospital – that received the bodies – in Beit Lahia confirmed to EFE.

The wave of bombings targeted the town of Jabalia and the refugee camp of the same name, and came shortly after the Israeli army identified the firing of three rockets from the Gaza Strip into Israel.

Two of the rockets were intercepted by the army and one fell in an unpopulated area, causing no casualties.

An hour before midnight, Israel’s Arabic-language military spokesman, Avichay Adraee, posted a message on social media calling for the evacuation of several areas of Jabalia.

Hours later, Basem Naim, a member of the political bureau of the Islamist group Hamas, confirmed at least 40 deaths, mostly women and children.

The attacks come as an Israeli negotiating delegation prepares to travel to Qatar to resume negotiations with Hamas for a ceasefire and hostage release.

Meanwhile, the Israeli government underlined that it does not intend to end the war until Hamas is completely destroyed. EFE
