Trossard scores twice as Arsenal leave it late in 3-2 win vs Leicester

Sports Desk, Sep 28 (EFE).- Leandro Trossard scored twice, including a dramatic 94th minute strike, as Arsenal beat Leicester City 4-2 at the Emirates Stadium on Saturday.

The result means Arsenal go level with Manchester City at the top of the table, after the champions drew at Newcastle earlier on Saturday.

Arsenal utterly dominated the first half, and the Gunners took the lead after 20 minutes when Gabriel Martinelli’s scuffed shot found the net.

Their second goal in first half stoppage time was thoroughly deserved, Leandro Trossard firing in off the post.

After being completely outplayed in the first half, Leicester were much improved in the second.

The Foxes got a lucky first goal to halve the deficit when James Justin’s deflected header wrongfooted David Raya in the Arsenal goal

Their second goal was a stroke of genius as Justin met a deep cross to sweep a right-footed volley in off the post.

Arsenal were laying siege to the Leicester goal but could not find a way past an inspired Mads Hermansen, with the Dane making one particularly spectacular close-range save from Kai Havertz, while Trossard hit the post.

The home team kept pressing, and eventually regained the lead through Trossard’s deflected effort, with Havertz adding a fourth minutes later. EFE
