Paris, Feb 16 (EFE).– will host a meeting of European leaders on Monday to discuss the continent’s security and defense, as concerns grow over the United States’ wavering for Ukraine.
French Foreign Minister Jean-Noël Barrot confirmed the gathering in a radio interview on Sunday but did not specify which countries would attend. The Élysée has yet to release further details.
Poland was the first to disclose the meeting during the Munich Security Conference, revealing that French President Emmanuel Macron had invited several European nations to forge a united strategy in ing Ukraine.
The talks come as US President Donald Trump signals a shift in Washington’s stance on the war.
Trump has suggested that a peace deal hinges primarily on direct negotiations between him and Russian President Vladimir Putin, sidelining Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy and leaving the European Union out of the process. EFE
