Trump brands Tesla arsonists ‘terrorists,’ suggests sending them to El Salvador prisons

Washington, Mar 21 (EFE).- US President Donald Trump on Friday called those responsible for burning Tesla vehicles and attacking its dealerships “sick terrorist thugs” and suggested sending them to El Salvador prisons.

“I look forward to watching the sick terrorist thugs get 20 year jail sentences for what they are doing to Elon Musk and Tesla,” Trump said in a post on Truth Social.

“Perhaps they could serve them in the prisons of El Salvador, which have become so recently famous for such lovely conditions!”

He was referencing the country’s Terrorism Confinement Center (CECOT), where alleged of the Tren de Aragua gang have been sent under a US-El Salvador agreement.

On Thursday, US Attorney General Pam Bondi announced charges against three individuals accused of setting fire to Tesla vehicles, dealerships, or charging stations. She requested prison sentences ranging from five to 20 years.

“The days of committing crimes without consequence have ended,” said Bondi. “Let this be a warning: if you this wave of domestic terrorism against Tesla properties, the Department of Justice will put you behind bars.”

This week, similar attacks have been reported at Tesla dealerships in Las Vegas, Nevada, and Kansas City, Missouri.

The FBI in Las Vegas is investigating one incident as a possible act of terrorism, according to The Washington Times. EFE
